Happy Friday! Today’s weekend wellness post is about drinking more water! Before I get into that I wanted to start by sharing my thoughts on the first weekend wellness challenge I shared two weeks ago!
The challenge was to slow down and disconnect by meditating for 10 minutes a day, putting your phone away for 2 hours each day and saying no to things you don’t want to do. I actually had a really hard time with pretty much all of this – not because I didn’t want to but because I forgot! Clearly I need some help learning how to slow down. I’m going to try to pick this up again this weekend and this time I plan to set alarms on my phone to remind myself to do these things. Sometimes you need to be really intentional about taking breaks and making time for wellness because otherwise you won’t do it. Which is actually a great Segway into this week’s weekend wellness challenge….drinking more water!
This is a topic I’ve been wanting to write about for a long time because it’s something I really struggle with. I know I’m going to sound crazy but I actually don’t like the taste of water so for the longest time I never drank it. Not even when I was working out! Then I started to educated myself on why it’s so important and I realized it’s something I really need to focus on more. I’m sure most of you already know the major benefits of drinking more water like weight loss, skin clearing, energy levels, general organ function…I won’t get into all that but this article here is a great read if you’re curious.
For the past few years I’ve been trying to figure out how I get myself to drink more water. I’ve tried so many different things which I’ll share in a bit but I wanted to share what’s recently been working really well for me! I recently discovered a water bottle by a company called Healthish. It is so genius and it’s already helped me so much with my water consumption.
The WB-1 water bottle by Healthish has time increments on it that prompts you to drink the right amount of water each hour of the day. You simply fill the water bottle up in the morning and drink the amount shown for each hour. Then you refill it after lunch and start again for the second half of the day. I love it because It’s such an easy way to be intentional about my water intake and make sure I’m drinking enough each day.
The general design of the bottle is also great. It’s the perfect size (about the size of a large smart water) so you can carry it with you on the go. It’s also made out of BPA free plastic that is durable and super lightweight. It’s truly the perfect water bottle for anyone trying to be more mindful of their water consumption!
